Awards, commitments, events: a brief look at the history of Zugerberg Finanz.

2000

The founding
The turn of the millennium marked the date our company was founded. This step was the result of two years of thorough preparation.

2009

Launch of the Zugerberg Finanz Foundations
In 2009, we set up the Zugerberg Vested Benefits Foundation. This was followed by our 3a Retirement Savings Foundation. In 2014, we launched our occupational pension solutions. Then came the second vested benefits foundation, the Wildspitz Vested Benefits Foundation, in 2019.

2011

The historic Lüssihof
We have been based at the Lüssihof at the foot of the Zugerberg since 2011. The former farm was built in 1828. With its deep historical roots in the region and unique far-reaching views, the domicile fits our company perfectly.

2012

Establishment of the Advisory Board
Experience, specialist knowledge, and clear values: with the establishment of the Economic and Financial Advisory Board, we expanded our analytical expertise to include another professional component.

2014

Supervisory authority and memberships
We have been supervised by FINMA since 2014 and have been a member of  the Alliance of Swiss Wealth Managers (ASV) since 2017.
Diverse commitments
We have been going on regular hikes with our clients since 2014. In addition, we have been running business workshops for young people since 2016 and support local events such as the Zug Sports Festival, Seefest, the KidsDay, and the Lakeride through sponsorships and active participation.

2017

Awards and accolades
In 2017, the financial analysis company Morningstar awarded us five stars. This was followed by other awards from Citywire and BILANZ in the next few years.

2020

Anniversary year
We celebrated our 20th anniversary in 2020. The same year, we launched the “Revo” mandate, our mini investment revolution. Revo enables us to buy fractional shares, which means that, since then, we have been able to implement the equity share via individual titles even for those with smaller assets: directly, efficiently, and transparently. Truly a mini revolution!

2021

The next chapter
In 2021, we added another commitment to our activities in the field of corporate social responsibility. The Zuger Trophy became the “Zugerberg Finanz Trophy”: permanently set up timed sections for runners, bike racers, cyclists, and joggers. Highlight: the Altitude Challenge.
In the summer, we launched “3a Revo”, which means that our 3a Foundation now also offers a solution based primarily on individual titles. A milestone, unique in the Swiss pension world.
Autumn was all about the launch of our Zugerberg Finanz app for smartphones. This was an important step towards the digital transformation of our company.

2022

All about sustainability
In 2022, we consolidated our range of mandates and fully replaced the fund-based asset management mandates with Revo.
With the launch of “DecarbRevo”, an impact investing solution with a sustainable portfolio, we now invest your assets in carefully selected companies that make an effective contribution to decarbonizing the earth – because tackling the climate crisis requires more action to be taken.
With over CHF 3 billion worth of assets under management, we are one of the largest asset management companies in Switzerland that is independent of banks.

2023

(Success Story -) Growth, Innovation, and Excellence
In 2023, Zugerberg Finanz took a significant step forward. We made great progress in digitization by successfully activating all mandates on our mobile app in the first quarter. In the course of the second half of the year, we introduced our web app and launched digital onboarding for tied assets (Vested Benefits and 3a). Since the summer of 2023, our website and all relevant documents and records have been available in four languages (German, English, French, and Italian). Numerous internal processes have been fully automated and digitized.
The decisions we made and measures we implemented as a result of the challenging year in 2022 have led to the expected results, earning us the title of Best Asset Management Company in Switzerland from BILANZ. Citywire has once again named us as one of the Top 50 Asset Managers in Switzerland and ZweiWealth has awarded us the “Highly recommended” rating.
The Zugerberg Finanz team has grown by 8 new members and now includes 64 employees, and our assets under management have been increased from CHF 3.1 billion to CHF 3.6 billion thanks to our performance and numerous new clients.
The year 2023 was all about innovation, continuous organic growth, and the pursuit of excellence. With a stable foundation and a clear vision for the future, we are now ready to write the next chapters in the Zugerberg Finanz success story.

2024

A year of digital transformation and growth
2024 was a year of outstanding growth and significant innovations for Zugerberg Finanz. Our assets under management (AUM) increased to an impressive CHF 4.5 billion, a clear testament to the success of our strategy and the trust our clients place in us.
Our team has passed the 70-employee mark and has grown to include more talented professionals.
A milestone in our digitization journey was the successful launch of digital onboarding for free assets (Revo). This innovation enables our clients to start building up their assets even more quickly and easily. In addition, we have further expanded and modernized our infrastructure in order to meet the increasing demands. Our technical and organizational infrastructure has been optimized to make our processes even more efficient and future-proof.
Another big step towards digitization was the implementation of digital statements of assets and tax certificates right in our app. Our clients can now conveniently view and manage their most important financial documents digitally at any time.
We have also made great progress in the area of internal processes: by introducing and implementing automated processes, we have been able to significantly increase the efficiency of our workflows and further digitize them.
For us, 2024 was a year of strong growth, continuous digitalization, and the ongoing optimization of our services. With a clear focus on innovation and excellence, we are ideally positioned to keep setting new milestones in the future and continue our success story.

2025

25 years of Zugerberg Finanz
and forward-looking milestones

The year 2025 marks an important chapter in the history of Zugerberg Finanz. On 20 April, we celebrated our 25th anniversary – a moment of gratitude and reflection on a quarter of a century of entrepreneurial development, supported by trust, stability, and long-term relationships.
Another important step was taken in June: 18 employees were appointed partners. This underlines our clear commitment to future-oriented corporate management that focuses on responsibility, participation, and shared values. Our new partners not only contribute their professional excellence, but will also actively shape the further development of our company.
We also reached a milestone in July: our assets under management (AUM) exceeded the CHF 5 billion mark. This figure represents more than just growth. It is an expression of the trust placed in us by our clients, the long-standing collaboration with our partners, and the daily commitment of our team. Our aspiration remains unchanged, especially in a challenging market environment: think independently. Act for the long term. Take responsibility.
